How to clear Edge Cache on PressHarbor Print

  • 0

PressHarbor sites include a built-in Edge Cache that improves performance by serving content from global edge locations. In most cases, this cache is cleared automatically when your site’s content changes.

Manual cache clearing is rarely needed, but when it is, you can do it directly from WordPress.

Where to find Edge Cache settings

You can manage Edge Cache from your WordPress dashboard:

  1. Log in to WordPress Admin
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Click Edge Cache

The Edge Cache settings page is installed automatically on PressHarbor sites and lives alongside other core WordPress settings.

Clearing Edge Cache

On the Edge Cache settings page, you’ll see a button labeled Clear Edge Cache.

Clicking this button will:

  • Clear cached content from the global edge network
  • Force the cache to rebuild on the next requests

Important: Clearing the edge cache can temporarily reduce performance while the cache is rebuilt. For this reason, it should only be done in rare cases.

When should I clear Edge Cache?

In most situations, you don’t need to do anything — Edge Cache is automatically cleared when:

  • You publish or update content
  • You change themes or plugins
  • Site configuration changes occur

Manual cache clearing is typically only needed if:

  • You’re troubleshooting a specific display issue
  • You’ve made an unusual or advanced configuration change
  • Support asks you to clear the cache as part of debugging

Do I need a caching plugin?

No. PressHarbor already includes multiple caching layers at the infrastructure level, including Edge Cache, full-page caching, and object caching.

Installing an additional page caching plugin is not recommended and can interfere with how the platform handles cache invalidation.

TL;DR

✓ Edge Cache is built into PressHarbor
► Located under Settings → Edge Cache
✓ Cache is usually cleared automatically
⚠ Manual clearing should be rare

If you’re unsure whether clearing cache is the right step, feel free to open a support ticket and we’ll help you decide.
